In Ukraine, an 11-year-old boy who was on a drifting block of ice was saved thanks to the ingenuity of a fisherman. The teenager was walking on a frozen river in Kiev on Sunday when a piece of ice broke off, reports Insider.
As time went on, the block moved away from the shore and began to crack. Witnessing the scene, a fisherman came up with the idea of using his rod to cast the fishing line to the boy. The child managed to grab the line and the fisherman then slowly pulled it back, pulling it, back to dry land. ” Do not be afraid. Don’t look back. Look at me, look at me, ”he said to the boy, to reassure him, according to our colleagues.
“In the right place and at the right time”
The man literally saved the life of this boy, who admitted that he could not swim. With an outside temperature of 0 ° C and freezing water, the child would have drowned if the ice had finally given way under his weight. The fisherman, who does not want to be called a hero, simply said he had been “in the right place at the right time”. The rescue video, posted on Facebook, garnered more than 33,000 likes.
