The Germans will soon be able to present their identity card on their phone, according to information spotted by BFMTV. This new measure, put in place with the aim of modernizing public services, will be available in the fall, confirmed the Ministry of the Interior.
These electronic documents will be recognized by the authorities and private companies called upon to verify the identity of their customers. Germany is ahead on the subject: it has been possible to authenticate on a website with an official identity for ten years already, recalls BFM.
In France too, the digital identity card should start to be deployed from the summer of 2021. It will include biometric elements, such as the passport, and can serve as a medium for accessing public or private services requiring robust identification. : open a bank account, enroll your children in nursery, receive allowances …
