They too do not see the end of the tunnel in the face of the coronavirus crisis. The associations organizing summer camps and green classes will be helped via an envelope of 15 million euros released by the government, announced this Saturday the Secretary of State in charge of Youth, Sarah El Haïry. This “exceptional fund” aims to prevent “defaults” from increasing in the coming weeks in this sector, she told the regional newspapers of the Ebra group.

Concretely, the organizing associations must send their request by mid-December to a single e-mail address,, “to allow implementation to begin” before the end of January 2021. The associations will be able to obtain assistance 5,000 euros per managed holiday establishment (capped at 20,000 euros per association), and 1,500 euros if they co-organize stays without directly managing a holiday center.

A lull during the summer

Despite the crisis, the relative lull of the summer in terms of health was able to allow the organizers of “camps” to live a “correct” summer season.

But “it is finally from now that they will face” real difficulties, notes the government, evoking on the one hand the potential cancellation of most discovery classes in 2020/2021, and on the other leaves the obligation, for associations, to reimburse families in the near future for the assets linked to stays canceled in 2020.
