A company will try for the third time to take tourists to visit the wreck of the “Titanic”. While the first two attempts were unsuccessful, one due to lightning and the other due to the bankruptcy of the company that sold the tickets. Ocean Gate Expeditions intends to achieve it this time, reports Bloomberg, relayed by our colleagues from Parisian.
In total, a series of six dives is planned from May 2021 to uncover the wreckage of the ship that sank in the Atlantic Ocean in 1912, killing at least 1,500 people. On the other hand, this expedition is not within the reach of all budgets. It takes $ 125,000, or about 106,000 euros, to participate in one of these dives which must last between six and eight hours.
Already around thirty reserved places
The price still includes a private cabin on a boat for an eight-day stay from Canada. Participants will also have the opportunity to pilot a five-person submarine during the descent to the wreck of the “Titanic”, located at 3,821 meters deep.
According to the company behind this project, around thirty seats have already been reserved and there are therefore not many tickets available. Ultimately, Ocean Gate Expeditions hopes to offer this type of excursion every year.
