Impossible to welcome customers in their stores? Three municipalities in the Alpes-Maritimes department, subject to the new confinement, have found a solution to allow non-essential businesses to still make turnover.
In Cannes, Antibes and Menton, the municipalities now authorize, upon registration, all shops to “occupy the public domain to maintain their activity”. Clearly, stalls can be installed directly in the streets.
Respect for barrier gestures
“The installations must be limited to the width of the commercial window, leave a passage for pedestrians and people with reduced mobility, not generate disturbances and not constitute a danger for users, indicates in particular the city of Cannes. The reception and the service of the customers must be carried out in the strict respect of the barrier gestures. “
In Antibes, the community also specifies that “the composition of the display must be related to the activity of the establishment and may include displays, mannequins or exceptionally clothes”.
Chin the first
In these two municipalities, the operation begins this Thursday. It was Menton who launched the movement, authorized by the prefecture, on Tuesday, with the installation of tables at the entrance of shops that wanted to open despite everything.
Since Saturday and the introduction of new restrictions intended to curb the Covid-19 epidemic in several departments, businesses deemed non-essential by the government had once again had to lower the curtain.
