Price of the dollar today in Mexico: how much is the exchange rate this Wednesday, February 16

The exchange rate in Mexico was trading lower this Wednesday due to the appreciation of the peso, while investors apparently worried less about the risk of Russia invading Ukraine, and waiting later in the day for the publication of the minutes of the last meeting of the United States Federal Reserve.

“The markets are looking for clues about the dimension that the rise in the interest rate will have in the March meeting (of the Fed), as well as the plans to reduce the balance”, Banorte said in a report.

Meanwhile, Russia said on Wednesday it was withdrawing more troops from surrounding Ukraine, but NATO urged Moscow to show it, saying there were signs more troops were on the way.

“The performance of currencies in the foreign exchange market is consistent with a gradual decrease in risk aversion related to the tensions between Russia and Ukraine”, referred the financial group Base in a note for its clients.
