The price of the US dollar in Colombia is trading lower this Wednesday, amid better prospects for the world economy, after China decided to relax some of the quarantine requirements for entering the country due to COVID-19.

The price of the dollar in Colombia for this Wednesday, June 29, 2022 is 4,099 Colombian pesos, according to data from the Bloomberg agency.
At the regional level, Latin American currencies were mixed on Tuesday while the bulk of the stock markets registered gains, amid better prospects for the world economy, after China decided to relax some of the quarantine requirements for entry to the country by COVID-19.
“The decision adopted by China to slightly relax the measures taken due to the coronavirus pandemic opens up hope for greater growth in the second largest global economy and, therefore, in the economy in general, since it should reactivate the demand for raw materials. ”, said an operator.
According to Reuters, China cut the quarantine time for travelers arriving in the country from abroad in half on Tuesday, in a major easing of some of the world’s strictest restrictions against COVID-19, which has deterred trips in and out of the country since 2020.
Quarantine in centralized facilities has been reduced from 14 to 7 days, while subsequent health control at home has been reduced from 7 to 3 days, according to the Chinese National Health Commission.
However, the advance of the currencies of the region was limited due to a global advance of the dollar, whose index, which measures the US currency against a basket of six major currencies, climbed around 0.4%.
