The protest continues to be expressed in the street. And even on the road: This Friday morning, the day after 49.3 was used by the government to pass the controversial pension reform, about 200 demonstrators violated the ring road in Paris. They stood on the tracks at the Porte de Clignancourt for almost half an hour.
The demonstrators ran along the tracks around 7:30 a.m. in the Porte de Clignancourt with smoke bombs and blocked traffic on the inner ring road before moving in procession towards the Porte de la Chapelle, forcing motorists to keep pace. Among them were many EDF agents who unfurled a banner with the image of the company.

The lawsuit filed by CGT Paris: “Against government blockades, the number of blocking points is multiplying,” she points out in a press release. In addition to Porte de Clignancourt, filter dams at the entrances to the ring road have been installed at Porte de Montreuil and Porte d’Italie.

“Today’s action is part of this dynamic of mobilization and action,” the press release elaborated, explicitly condemning the government’s use of 49.3 last night. CGT Paris also guarantees that “the reception left by the users of the device indicates the support of the population for the movement against this unjust and useless reform.”
“Our campaign went very well”
The action was generally calm, despite some signs of nervousness on the part of some motorists. Shortly after 8 am, the demonstrators left the ring road and traffic resumed as normal. They then quietly dispersed without the intervention of the police forces present. “Our action went very well, calmly, we had a lot of horns of support,” said Adele Tellez from CGT Paris, one of the organizers.
“Who cares about the blockage of the apparatus for about 8 hours? People who come to work,” Olivier Dusseau commented on BFMTV this morning. “There is a difference between expressing opposition and blocking,” the labor minister insisted.
