French skies will be even more outraged next week. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) asked airlines to cancel on Monday 30% of their flights to Paris-Orly and 20% to Marseille-Provence due to an air traffic controllers’ strike against the derogation reform. “Despite these preventive measures, disruptions and delays are nevertheless to be expected,” the DGAC warned on Friday.
The cancellation rate in Orly on Monday rose from this week, when authorities requested the cancellation of 20% of flights departing from Île-de-France airport.
Minimum service provisions will apply to limit traffic disruptions at certain en-route air navigation centers (CRNAs, air traffic control centres) and airport navigation services.
DGAC suggests that passengers who are able to do so should postpone their travel and contact their airline to inquire about the status of their flight.
