The exchange rate was trading higher on Monday in Mexico by the depreciation of the peso amid renewed concerns about the Chinese real estate giant Evergrande, while investors closely followed the debate between Democratic and Republican legislators to raise the debt ceiling of the US government.

Participants’ sights were also on the release of US employment figures on Friday, looking for new signals about the future of the Federal Reserve’s bond buying program.

Today the price of the dollar was trading at 20.5484 pesos in the Mexican market, reporting a rise of 0.58% compared to Friday’s reference price, according to Reuters data.

“Investors are cautious, as the factors that led to strong volatility and decline in major indices last month are still latent,” analysts at Ve por Más said.
