DolarToday Venezuela: How much is the dollar priced at? Today, Tuesday, January 4, 2022

The dollar in Venezuela was trading down on Tuesday, according to DolarToday, amid the complaint that in 2021 US $ 100 million was evaded in the country, according to an opponent of the Government.

At the opening, the dollar stood at 4.69 digital bolivars in the informal market in Venezuela, a level 2.34% lower than the previous day when it was quoted at 4.80, according to data from the portal DolarToday.

The Venezuelan opposition Karim Vera denounced this Monday that, during 2021, more than 100 million dollars were evaded at the border crossing between the Caribbean country and Colombia for merchandise entered through “contraband”, with a scheme of “codes and minor imports ”.

In short, 99% of the income that we denounced with documents in hand was not processed, on different occasions last year, not including the trafficking of illicit products such as drugs (source of the guerrilla groups that protects the regime) and mercury used for illegal mining that is transferred to the east of the country“Vera said in a press release.

The former deputy added that 2022 begins with the “broader corruption scheme that has existed on the Venezuelan border”, where “irregular groups” and security officials “are complicit in what happens between the steps between Venezuela and Colombia.”

Vera indicated that although, currently, the steps between the two nations are “moderately open”, the rights of citizens are “increasingly limited, (there is) much more criminal activity on the part of the PSUV (United Socialist Party of Venezuela) and all the official entities, plus the most anchored irregular groups ”.

Unfortunately, everything that happened on unsafe crossings (trails, illegal roads) is now carried out on international bridges to a greater extent, ranging from the collection of fees to be able to cross, to mistreatment and harassment, which some already normalize”, He added.

The opposition party assured that “illegal activities of smuggling and drug trafficking continue on the trails, backed by the government apparatus in collusion with the irregular mafias that live there.”
