Zac Efron Says He’s Ready To Return ‘In Any Form’ In ‘High School Musical’ Reboot

Zac Efron is ready to put on his basketball star jersey! The actor rose to fame in 2006 with the cult “trilogy” High School Musical, which ended in 2008 with a last opus generating more than 250 million dollars in box office receipts. And the actor, who has stayed away from the genre that made him famous (the musical for teenagers, basically…) in recent years, is very keen to reconnect with the team that shot the first three films. .

” Of course, of course. I mean, having the opportunity in any form to come back and work with this team would be really awesome. My heart is still there. It would be amazing. I hope that happens,” he told E! News, obviously enthusiastic.

Not yet

No reboot of High School Musical has not yet been publicly discussed. On the other hand, Vanessa Hugdens, the other star of the program, has not yet said anything about her ambitions for the franchise.

Disney, which produces the franchise, has already relaunched the concept in 2019 around a very meta series, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. The pitch is simple: students from an American high school perform in a musical inspired by the movies. The program was a hit for the studio, and notably helped launch the career of a superstar: Olivia Rodrigo.

If he seems to want to return to his first love, Zac Efron will be from June 1 on the poster of firestarteran adaptation of a Stephen King novel, in which he plays Andy McGee, the father of a young girl who develops pyrokinetic powers.
