Kate Bush makes an unexpected return to the top of the charts thanks to “Stranger Things”

Kate Bush probably enjoyed it even more than fans of Stranger Things. The cult Netflix series returned last weekend for the new adventures of the group of teenage geeks who save the world from the Upside Down, and in the soundtrack of the programme, known for its fierce nostalgia shots, it there was an absolute hit from the singer: Running Up That Hill !

Not only do we hear the song during the episode, but it is very important for the story of Max, the character played by young Sadie Sink. And the effect was immediate: in a few hours, the title propelled itself to the top of the iTunes charts, and to 106th place in the top 200 on Spotify, as noted by the LA Times.

Kate Bush’s social networks, which have not been active for a few years, did not relay the news, but it seems that Stranger Things had an effect on the entire discography of the British artist, since other titles like Wuthering Heights or Babooshka are also among the most listened to songs for three days!

In the third season of Stranger Thingsanother hit from the 80s had suddenly found itself at the center of everyone’s attention: the theme of the fantastic film The never-ending story, performed by Limahl, Kajagoogoo’s shaggy singer. It remains to be seen whether other songs will come back in force thanks to the series. In the credits, we also find the Beachs Boys, and other essential titles of the 80s, such as psycho killer Talking Heads or You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) from Dead or Alive.
