César Peredo, flutist nominated for Latin Grammy, will perform a show in Lima

the flutist and composer Peruvian César Peredo will perform a special concert this June 2 at the Cocodrilo Verde room. The show will be a tribute to the legendary Puerto Rican musician Dave Valentin, one of the main promoters of Latin jazz.

The repertoire will include songs like “The shadow of your smile”, “Oasis” and “Danzon for my father”, among others. In addition, Peredo will perform some of his own compositions at the gala that will demonstrate his talent with the flute.

“Going back to Cocodrilo Verde is something very special for me, especially after the quarantines of previous years… stepping on its stage again and meeting the public again in such an intimate space is something I look forward to. In this tribute concert to maestro Valentin I will have the best of his repertoire and also some surprises”said the Peruvian in a press release.

It should be remembered that César Peredo is a renowned flutist and jazz composer. During his career, he has shared the stage with prominent international artists such as Plácido Domingo, Rubén Blades, Juan Diego Flórez, Il Divo, Tania Libertad, Gian Marco, Chucho Valdez, Eva Ayllón, Cecilia Barraza, Pepe Vásquez and Fito Páez, among others. Likewise, Peredo has been nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards four times. For example, in 2017, he competed in the category of Recording of the Year for his collaboration with Rubén Blades on the single “La Flor de la Canela”, which belongs to the tribute album to Chabuca Granda.
