Announced the new animated film “Batman Azteca: Clash of Empires” inspired by Mexico

According to a recent Deadline report, HBO Max Latin America and DC Comics have joined forces to prepare a new animated film, which will be titled “Batman Azteca: Clash of Empires” (“Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires”).

The streaming platform will launch a new story of the batman at the time of the Spanish invasion, but it does not yet have a release date.

The news was announced at the Guadalajara International Film Festival, an event that has been taking place in Mexico until June 18. Animated production comes from Warner Bros. Animation and DC in association with Anima and Chatrone.

“In the time of the Aztec Empire, Yohualli Coatl, a young Aztec, experiences a tragedy when his father and village leader, Toltecatzin, is assassinated by the Spanish conquistadors. Yohualli escapes to Tenochtitlán to warn King Moctezuma and his high priest, Yoka, of the impending danger. Using the temple of Tzinacan, the bat god, as a lair, Yohualli trains with his mentor and assistant, Acatzin, developing equipment and weaponry to face the Spanish invasion, protect Moctezuma’s temple, and avenge his father’s death.” could be read in the synopsis.

Batman fans will be able to enjoy this animated film and series derived from the Warner Bros. character for HBO Max. In fact, the continuation of “Joker” has also been confirmed, to which Lady Gaga would be about to join to play Harley Quinn.
