What you need to know about the future exhibition dedicated to Johnny Hallyday

Johnny’s fans have been waiting for him for a very long time… They will be able to discover the exhibition devoted to the idol of young people! Title Johnny Hallyday, the exhibitionit will start at the end of the year in Brussels (Jean-Philippe Smet was born in Belgium, let’s remember), before landing in Paris in 2024, as announced by his widow, Laeticia Hallyday, on Instagram.

Benoît Remiche, founder of Tempora, who created the exhibition, told RTL a little more, explaining that “it will be like a journey in Johnny’s guitar”. The idea of this “chrono-thematic” exhibition is to “trace Johnny’s legendary appearances on the scene”. “Each space, there are about ten of them, is introduced by a few moments of a song. For his childhood, you have I was born in the street for example,” he added.

Unpublished objects will also be unveiled, such as “identity papers, driving license, his Green Card, his first contract at the Olympia, his guitars”. Among the emblematic pieces, we will also find one of Johnny’s favorite cars, his blue Cobra, as well as some of his Harley Davidsons.

All in music

Laeticia Hallyday has been working on this project for two years, after being inspired by the traveling exhibition dedicated to David Bowie. “In 1998, I started buying stage costumes from fans who had kept them. I created in our house in Marnes-la-Coquette a small museum with hundreds of costumes. We start from his military service costume and that of the Olympia with his little black and white bow tie until his departure, ”she explained on the radio.

The exhibition is due to start on December 20 at Palais 2 in Brussels, before arriving at Porte de Versailles in early 2024, then in the rest of France after passing through Paris. The ticket office for the Belgian exhibition opens on September 15.
