After the success of “don’t call me spinster 2″, which became the highest grossing Peruvian film this year with 280,000 viewers, Big Bang Films once again offers us a charming comedy that will undoubtedly be the favorite of many: “Mundo Gordo”.
This new Peruvian film is based on the successful one-man stand-up show of the same name made by comedian Daniel San Román in 2019, where he reflected on what it is like to be fat in a light society, the XL complications that the city has for him, as well like his constant fights with diet and exercise and his sugar-coated health.
Fat world: what is it about?
“Mundo Gordo” tells the story of Antonio, who is not satisfied with his physique. His overweight generates insecurity, which he tries to face through humor, so he becomes a stand-up comedian to laugh at himself. When he meets again with Cynthia, her eternal love from her youth, he tries to conquer her, but she announces that she is in love with Gerardo and asks him for help to conquer him.
Antonio will do anything to avoid this relationship, while undergoing fun treatments, diets and exercises to lose weight and become the type of man he thinks Cynthia likes. Along the way he will understand that the only way to love someone else is to start loving himself.
This national comedy is directed by Sandro Ventura and starring Miguel Vargas and Daniela Feijoo and also features the performances of Jesús Alzamora, Ximena Hoyos, Maju Mantilla, Renzo Schuller, Mónica Torres, Camucha Negrete and Cielo Torres. It should be noted that the film began filming in March 2020, but had to be interrupted due to the quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic and filming was completed at the end of 2020 with all the necessary protocols for this type of production.
“Fat World” will hit theaters on Thursday, September 1. Undoubtedly one of the most attractive premieres of the season and with which many will feel identified from start to finish and will also cause more than one laugh.
