in conversation with Tradethe also actor said that he wrote “A damn secret” with the intention of opening a topic of discussion about the problems that happen in the country. “These are topics that interest me a lot. We live in a country in which, if we collide with someone in the car or have a problem in traffic, the first thing that comes to mind is to say to the other is ´cholo´, ´negro´, it is the first thing that comes to mind. happens to say We base ourselves on racial, social, socioeconomic issues to be able to ventilate our differences and our shortcomings”recognize.

Likewise, it ensures that the issue of hierarchy towards minorities is present. “We cannot talk in this country, we can only discuss and that in some way we all feel superior to the other”, ensures.

Making a theater script in rhyme was another complication that, although the Miyashiro He imposed it on him, he did not avoid the drama of having to write each line for about a year with his eldest son Adrián and Marco Paulo Meléndez, son of Jimena Arroyo, one of the protagonists.

“We have had a complicated dramaturgy process because the play is in rhyme, which is something I used as a resource because the play says very harsh things, terrible things, and I feel that with rhymes they can be heard a little less seriously and they can come across deeper. (…) The rhyme gives you a difficulty, but at the same time it gives you a path and the path is that some things you say do not sound so serious and can be heard”assured.

Before even having the script finished, Aldo started with the cast call. He already had the ideal candidates for each role and, to his luck, according to him, they all said “yes” on the first call. “It really is a joy for me, it is a sign of trust from the actor that we are going to do something good and that I am going to make an effort with them to do something good”he added.

While it is true that Arenas has vast experience in acting, Miyashiro he confesses that, at the time of directing it, he seems like a new actor because he simply nods at any indication given to him. Reynaldo is a teacher and we all love him very much. He is a super united and super grounded guy, with his feet well on the ground despite what he means for the country. (…) Directing him is a pleasure because it’s like an actor just starting out. He never replicates anything, he never tells you anything, he is always attentive, he always lets himself be guided. I am very careful with him because he deserves it, because he deserves all our respect and admiration. It is a charm”he assures.

“The box office is divided by score. He is the one with the lowest score, that is, he is the one who earns the least of all. But he is very happy. He is very excited. He is a very good boy, very well educated by his mother, by the whole family. He is a boy who is very noble, he is learning and how good he wants to be an actor ”he pointed out.

But, all the while, he had to remind his actors that they couldn’t mess up the script because by changing the text, it messed up the rhyme. He knew that he was giving them a great challenge, but he was confident in the ability of each of them to achieve it. So it was.

“If you make a mistake in the letter and you don’t say the right word, you kill all the rhyme that follows in the texts of the companions. This generated a state of uneasiness in some and I have been laughing a lot with their faces. remember between laughs.

What is the message they want to leave?

Aldo Miyashiro he emphasizes over and over again his goal with “A Damn Secret” is to generate a moment of reflection among the attendees, because with that he would be completely satisfied after the work done on stage.
