The inauguration of the World Cup Qatar 2022 presented a quite celebrated fact and that is that, in the preview of Jungkook’s show at the Al-Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, the anthems of the previous World Cups were presented, including the popular “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” of Shakira.
Despite the fact that the Colombian artist decided not to accept the invitation to sing in Qatar 2022, her music was present at the opening of the World Cup. Through social networks, the staging prepared by the organization has gone viral.
While the anthem for the 2010 South Africa World Cup played, a large dance group, all dressed in red, showed up at the Al-Bayt Stadium in Al Khor and danced to the rhythm of Shakira from Barranquilla.

As you remember, the rumors suggested that Shakira would be at the opening ceremony of Qatar 2022; However, days before the sporting event it was confirmed that the Colombian would not be part of the opening event of the FIFA World Cup.
Shakira has been linked to soccer events for years and her music has sounded at three World Cups, including the World Cup in South Africa that the Spanish team won.
It should be noted that Shakira was not the only artist who said no to the invitation to sing in Qatar 2022. The British Rod Stewart and Dua Lipa also made public their refusal to participate in the sporting event.
