The cinephile event has programmed more than 58 films from different countries, which can be seen, from December 2 to 10, in the Armando Robes Godoy room of the Ministry of Culture, the cinema of the Cultural Center of Spain in Lima and the Plazuela of the Arts of the Municipality of Lima.

As every year, the films in this edition cover current issues as a result of the creative investigations of their authors, in which they reflect their concerns for change towards our society.

“No Bears” (Iran) was the film chosen for the opening of the festival. The Iranian film by Jafar Panahi, which was secretly shot in Iran, tells two parallel love stories in which the desires of couples are frustrated by hidden and unavoidable obstacles, the force of superstition and the mechanics of power.

On the other hand, the festival announced the screening of the Peruvian film “Cholo” (Peru), by Peruvian director Bernardo Batievsky, starring soccer player Hugo Sotil and music by the band El Polen. This film, which was recently restored, was chosen to close the festival.
