The Tropical Fusion Band Olaya Sound System announced the premiere of his new song “Flores traigo”, the second release of 2022. This single comes accompanied by a striking video clip that deals with a comparison between flowers and music as elements that we use to share love and joy.
The video clip, co-directed by Rodolfo Arrascue and Maritza Méndez, is now available on the group’s YouTube channel. The audiovisual proposes a game of superimposed images and visual effects that take the viewer on a “journey” of joy, emotion and psychedelia.
“The song talks about the power of music and nature expressed in a flower, to heal human sorrows and sorrows.. As musicians, we are constant witnesses of this power that will never cease to amaze us and for a long time we wanted to manifest it in a song.”commented Lorenzo Zolezzi, vocalist of the group, through a statement.
This single was prepared together with the renowned music producer Juan Carlos Fernández, as a sound proposal that plays with various elements and nuances of the Peruvian musical tradition: such as guitar riffs that recall Amazonian cumbia, percussion that plays with rhythms such as chicha, dembow and charango strumming that take us to the heights of the Andes, in addition to having vocal melodies with reggae and pop influences.
As is known, since its debut in 2008, the group from Lima, which already has five studio albums, was born with the intention of seeking its own sound that integrates different genres and Peruvian and tropical influences. During this period, the band was able to share the stage with artists such as The Strokes (USA), Café Tacuba (Mexico), Cultura Profética (Puerto Rico), Chico Trujillo (Chile), among others.
