Naysha presented her third album “Despertar”, where the national composer and producer narrates an inner journey through the arts and culture.
“’Despertar’ represents a path of self-recognition and acceptance, and with that, a discovery of the outside from a questioning perspective. As well as the encounter with his way of seeing and feeling the expression of Peruvianness and its culture”says the Peruvian artist about her new musical work.
Throughout 10 songs, Naysha explores rhythms and sounds from Peru, fusing them with modern sounds, without losing her nature. A challenge that the singer-songwriter had been designing for a long time and that has led her to develop her own style, as a singer and also as an arranger and producer.
On this album, Naysha also presents two songs in the original Ashaninka language, inspired by the central jungle, exactly Mazamari, in Junín, where the singer lived for several years and from where she produced this album remotely during the pandemic.
“’Despertar’ is not only a collection of songs, but a conceptual work that is also supported by the audiovisual format, where the story that inspires the album is narrated. Within this medium-length film that takes a lot from the cinematographic format of the musical genre, it is nourished by various Peruvian dances by the cast ‘El Mochero’, which give life and color to the story that Naysha has wanted to tell ”was stated in a press release.
This visual material of “Despertar” was made by Pasaje18 and directed by Gustavo de la Torre Casal. In addition, the musical medium-length film has the special participation of the teacher Susana Baca.
