“Ambient On”, the Dreams on Board single that is influenced by urban music

The influence of urban music is inevitable. It sounds everywhere, every hour and a good majority knows the lyrics and even the viral steps of Tik Tok. Hence, Diego Seymour, a Peruvian musician who leads the project of music electronic Dreams on Board, decided to let himself be swept away by those sounds. Why not give them a try?

Seymour acknowledges that there is a break between his previous work and the one he is presenting now. “Timeless” Y “Taipei Lullaby”, published in 2020 and 2021 respectively, have different textures than those that characterize “Ambient-On”, his new single. It is, the author confesses, a new stage in his career.

I didn’t consider myself a listener of urban music, but it came to me and captivated me. I think those rhythms are here to stay and, since I am a person with eclectic tastes, I gave myself the opportunity to take them and adapt them to my composition style.“, He says.

Furthermore, he adds, “Ambient-On” It also works as an invitation to the new generations, a way of opening their ears to the universe of electronic music.

music to get lost

Conceptually, “Ambient-On” also has a proposal. if the urban music hegemonic, the one that sounds on the radio, bets on the abstraction of the world from the enjoy, dance and partythe single from Dreams on Board it points to the opposite without losing that intention to self-absorb.

Seymour explains: “This song takes you to the other extreme, it invites you to sit down, lie down, to be alone, isolated from what is happening around you. It is an invitation for listeners to ask themselves questions, to self-analysis. My music is for people to rethink what they do here and now, and how they give meaning to their existence.”.

“Ambient-On” it does not tell a story: as its name explains, the intention is to create an atmosphere, an imagined space in which people can immerse themselves. How is that place? Seymour describes it as broad, with slopes, but above all with winding roads. “as if it were any other day”, he comments. “There are situations or moments that we enjoy, others that we do not so much, but the idea is to give ourselves time to think about what we are doing and if we consider it good. And accept the contradictions of life”.
