“The pleasure of the eyes”: Ricardo Bedoya will no longer host the TV Peru film program

After 22 years of history, “El placer de los ojos” on TV Peru, one of the oldest film programs in the country still on the air, will no longer have its host, Ricardo Bedoya. This was reported by the film critic.

“After 22 years and a little more, I have decided to retire because that’s the way things are, because everything has its end, and because a program of this type, old, requires new faces and new concepts”indicated the presenter, film critic and teacher through the channels of the program on social networks.

“It is time to thank the directors of the channel, for the support and for the freedom they always gave to make this program, the workers of the channel, all the workers, who put their efficiency with great generosity”he added. In the message, Bedoya also thanked the first producer of the program, Karen Díaz, and Samantha Chau Adrianzén, who from the beginning of the program provided her voice to the program, as well as her visual identity.

“The pleasure of the eyes” has been one of the most emblematic programs of TV Peru. Multiple times nominated for the Luces Awards for Best Cultural Program, the space did not criticize film. This is how Bedoya described it in an interview with this newspaper in commemoration of the first 11 years of the program:

“We talk about the films, their themes, and we make thematic, gender approaches. We talk about the language of cinema. Even our reports are recorded and used in college and university classes. That is very interesting. Above all, they use our programs dedicated to genres such as the ‘western’ or the musical in the classroom to illustrate these themes“, said.

At the close of this article, it is unknown if TV Peru will get another presenter for the program.
