The penultimate day of the FMS Peru 2023 had as champion Toy Lokazo (Jaze), the last achievement of the rapper before his departure to Argentina. Despite the fact that the event began normally in the Mall del Sur in San Juan de Miraflores, there was controversy.
The contest began with Nekroos at the microphone, while Juan Carlos Iwasaki (Jaze), disguised as his character Toy Locazo, endured the attacks of his opponent. Both showed skill in easy moderound where rappers rhyme with words provided by the competition.
The history between the two dates back to the 2018 Battle of Masters, where they had a first matched dispute in the quarterfinals, this time the victory was taken by Nekroos. Months later, in the Battle of the Roosters, Jaze won the victory, thus tying the scores between the two.
The following year on Supremacy MC, Nekroos, with an arsenal of double-tempo rhymes, surpassed the metrics of fellow singer, Jaze. Now in the FMS Peru of 2023, Jaze, under the character of TOY LOKAZO, reaffirmed himself as the strongest rapper in the leagueagain tying the scores for both “roosters”.
The most commented moment of the night occurred in the fifth round of the so-called ‘Minutes of blood’, moment in which Nekroos, abruptly, snatched the mask of his opponent.
Although the FMS Peru 2022 champion showed discomfort and bewilderment, the show continued. Moments before the start of ‘Deluxe’, an a cappella format with responses, the audience shouted in unison: “Kill him, Jaze, kill him”, a which the rapper responded with more rhymes. Eventually, he raised his glass.
After the tournament, the current two-time champion expressed his discomfort after having lost his mask due to the work of his competitor. “The Toy Lokazo is a project that, since it began, I knew that it was risky and crazy and already very burned. But I did it that way only because I wanted to give you something original and special (you know me), and there was a great job both musically and on the mask (mask), and in everything I was very excited to be able to do everything as I had planned. I had a whole story prior to my farewell before I went to Argentina. (…) But I know that everything happens for a reason”he indicated in a publication through his social networks.
