Jorge Drexler in Lima: Everything you need to know about the concert

After five years of absence, Jorge Drexler returns to Lima this February 23 in a long-awaited concert. This is a stop on his tour to present his new album “Tinta y Tiempo”, an album written in a pandemic that recently triumphed at the 2022 Latin Grammys.

The Uruguayan singer-songwriter last visited Peru in 2018 as part of the presentation of his album “Salvavidas de Hielo”, with two successful performances at the Gran Teatro Nacional and an additional date in Arequipa.

Now Drexler returns to Peruvian land with the Parque de la Exposición Amphitheater as the place of reunion, before continuing his tour of the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Spain and the United Kingdom.

In a recent conversation with Tradethe singer-songwriter confessed the difficulties that the composition of “Tinta y Tiempo” caused him during the pandemic, moments in which he was forced to distance himself from other people.

“‘Ink and Time’ is special because of that compositional block I had, which was somewhat progressive. At first I started writing, but then the block set in and I was bogged down with a compositional and creative block in general. I had ideas, I had ambitions, but I didn’t know how to stage them, how to finish them, or how to fix them, because I lacked the encouragement of another person.“, he claimed. “And ‘Ink and time’ is also a song that I write and it’s like a ‘self-mantra’ in full lockdown. I repeat it to myself, trying to combat the impatience that was creeping into me.”

Drexler will arrive with a new and original show, accompanied on stage by Borja Barrueta (drums), Meritxell Neddermann (keyboards and vocals), Javier Calequi (guitar and vocals), Carles “Campi” Campón (bass and programming), Alana Sinkëy and Miryam Latrece (voices).

Where and when will the concert be?

Jorge Drexler will perform at the Parque de la Exposición Amphitheater on February 23rd.

According to information shared in the singer-songwriter’s Stories, those attending the concert will be able to enter the instance from 7:15 pm, although the concert will start at 9 pm

People who arrive earlier will be rewarded at 7 pm with a show by singer Carlos Cruzalegui in the food court of the instance.
