The live-action adaptation of “Knights of the Zodiac” released a new trailer where it reveals its global release date: May 12, 2023.
Titled “The Knights of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya – The Beginning”, the film produced by Sony and Toei Animation adapts the influential manga created by Masami Kurumada about a group of young people with special powers who protect the reincarnation of the goddess Athena.
“Los Caballeros del Zodiaco” or “Saint Seiya” is remembered with particular affection in Latin America, where it was broadcast on open television along with other animes such as “Dragon Ball”, “Sailor Moon” and “Ranma 1/2”.
It is not the first time that “The Knights of the Zodiac” have come to the big screen, although this is the first film adaptation of the franchise in live-action format, counting on its cast with actors like Mackenyu in the main role of Seiya. We can also see Madison Iseman in the role of Sayori/Sienna, Sean Bean as Alman Kido and Famke Janssen as Guraad, the leader of a mysterious organization that seeks to control Athena’s powers.
The film is directed by the Polish producer and director Tomasz Baginski, known for working on projects such as “Into the Night” and “The Witcher”
