Drake canceled his concert at the Lollapalooza Brazil festival at the last minute

Canadian rapper Drakeheadliner of the third and final day of Lollapalooza Brazil, canceled the concert that was scheduled for this Sunday at the festival, as announced by the organizers a few hours before its presentation.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Drake is without members of his sound and production team essential for the realization of the Lollapalooza show, in Sao Paulo,” The organizers of the festival reported on their social networks.

They assured in a brief message that “Drake was encouraged to appear before his followers in Brazil”, but that “unfortunately” what happened “is out of his control”. They ended the ad with an “apologies.”

Drake will be replaced by Skrillex, a well-known American music producer and one of the main promoters of the dubstep genre.

The Toronto-born singer-songwriter was the highlight of the last day of Lollapalooza Brazil, which began on Friday, with star performances by Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X, and ends this Sunday at the Interlagos Autodrome.

On the 17th, Drake appeared in the Argentine version of the festival and was already strongly criticized by the public and the press in that country, since his concert lasted just 40 minutes and also prohibited it from being broadcast live for the associated channels.

After knowing her decision to cancel her recital in Sao Paulo, social networks were filled with messages requesting that Rosalía, who also performs this Sunday, go to the main stage and close the Brazilian festival with a flourish.

Lollapalooza Brazil also suffered this year with the loss of another of its headliners, Blink-182, albeit for medical reasons, as drummer Travis Barker had to undergo finger surgery.

Blink-182 was replaced by Twenty One Pilots, who on Saturday had the nice gesture of interpreting “All The Small Things”, one of the great hits of the Californian group.

Lollapalooza originated in the United States and expanded to Latin America for the first time with an edition in Chile, in 2011, and since then it has added Brazil and Argentina, as well as some European countries, on its tours.
