Acclaimed film “The Ghost Island” arrives this March 30 in national theaters

The film “The Ghost Island” arrives in Peruvian theaters this March 30 with Star Films with a story starring Tom Hughes (‘Victoria’, ‘Cemetery Junction’) and the Emmy winner, Greta Scacci. In addition, it has more than 70 percent acceptance in the Rotten Tomatoes.

This horror film had its world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival to rave reviews. The story follows Eric Black (Tom Hughes), a neurotic man plagued by nightmares after the mysterious death of his adulterous wife.

To make matters worse, Eric is even estranged from his mother due to the disapproving relationship he had with his late partner. Beaten to despair and wanting to get away from it all, Eric answers a newspaper ad for a position as a shepherd on a remote island, somewhere in the Scottish Highlands.

But tending a herd of sheep on a lonely island becomes the least of Eric’s problems as he struggles to maintain his sanity amid the madness that unfolds around him. This man’s rising madness meets a vengeful supernatural force. What begins as a perfect getaway turns into a race to save her sanity and his life from an evil force.

The photography, in addition to the strong winds and giant waves that are heard incessantly throughout the film by Welsh director and screenwriter Russell Owen, are the natural setting that accompanies this story from beginning to end.
