He Grand National Theater and the SinVERgüenza Theater Group, a company made up of people with visual disabilities, will present on Wednesday, March 29, at 8:00 p.m., in the main hall of the GTN, a free performance of the play Así nos vemos, a moving story that invites reflection and shows that in life the limits are set by oneself.
The production is directed by the renowned film, theater and television actor Lucho Cáceres. In the plot, fourteen people with some kind of visual impairment, including blind and low vision, look for a new space to act after exposing their talents and skills for several years in small halls. They want a larger stage, with modern architecture, platforms, lights and sound of a high technological level, which is why they choose the Gran Teatro Nacional to stage their new professional work.
When they arrive at the imposing stage they discover that they were not used to so many technical requirements. Then, insecurity, fears and doubts invade their minds, generating a series of conflicts within the group on the first day of rehearsal. This situation will cause all participants to “undress” emotionally and confront their capacities as human beings and artists.
Facing visual impairment with humor, criteria and resilience allows us to appreciate the world with a different perspective, accepting life’s circumstances and solving problems with tolerance and enthusiasm.
The work also tries to raise awareness among the population to definitively eliminate indifference, remembering that more than 285 million people on the planet are blind and 250 million have been diagnosed with low vision.
Double tickets for Así nos vemos will be assigned by lottery only to those over eighteen years of age who are correctly registered in the form that will be published on the networks of the Grand National Theater, from Wednesday March 22 to Sunday March 26 at 11:59 pm
