Feid in Lima: Much Ferxxo for so little stage | CHRONICLE

Saint Google who knows everything (or so it seems) says that they exist around 100 kinds of green color. Oil, water, emerald, lemon and many more. Is it possible that the search giant fails? Yesterday we saw probably over 100 different shades of that color, and all in one place: Arena 1 on the Costa Verde. There he appeared Feid, or the Ferxxo, or the Colombian singer of the moment, in front of thousands of people who are fans of his music and of that particular color. This is how we lived his presentation in San Miguel.

If I say Solomon Villada Hoyos you, dear reader, would continue reading this note to know who it is. Maybe the same thing would happen if I told you that Feid sang last night for his Peruvian fans. But if I tell him that he Ferxxo conquered Lima, despite the late start of the show, and despite singing in one of the worst places to do concerts in the capital, would you believe me? How did this young man born in Medellín go from writing some hits to J Balvin and Nicky Jam to do a show for almost 20 thousand people in an insufferable place?

A late start

He arena 1 It is located in the beach circuit, in San Miguel. So that one can be located, above, are the first blocks of the Av. La Paz. A few blocks further, Media Luna park and on the other side, Av. Rafael Escardó. The accesses are horrible. There is a pedestrian bridge closed due to infrastructure damage, so it cannot be used. There is no public transport that circulates in the area and the traffic that is generated in the surroundings is chaotic. That may have been the reason why the show, scheduled for 9 p.m. it just started 55 minutes after the agreed time. Now yes, music.

The preview of the concert came courtesy of a DJ who chose the best of reggaeton to play before the Ferxxo went on stage. In addition to the predominant green in almost all the ‘outfits’ of the attendees, shown in polo shirts, skirts, hats, glasses and many more of all the shades of green that one can imagine, the public was looking for their prime moment by showing messages on their cell phones. Since the “I didn’t go to therapy, but I came to your concert” or the dangerous -and, I hope, pranksters- “I have Covid”, people hesitated in the moments before the concert. Until the time comes.

A giant white curtain covers the entire stage and although the intro of “Normal” it begins to play and the Colombian’s voice invades the entire Arena 1, the curtain does not fall. People accompany singing one of the Ferxxo hits and now, with the fall of the curtain, the entire venue explodes.

It’s not just him Ferxxo on stage, with a jean that almost fell off, a black polo shirt and an enormous jacket that combines green and yellow. There is also a DJ/entertainer who accompanies you on all tracks. Dropping the clues but also motivating the public to participate. There is no dance cast for the songs, but there is a guitarist with sporadic appearances. The Ferxxo team and its stellar lineup to conquer Lima. “Purrito apa” shows some audio problems in Arena 1, but people don’t seem to care. “Jordan IV” is another of the songs most anticipated by the public, my ears -thanks to the shouts of all the attendees- could confirm it.

“You can be with anyone.

The first Ferxxo

Feid or Ferxxo It is another of those pleasant musical surprises that the pandemic left behind. With a solo career that began in 2015, which includes issues up with Mario Hart (for the connoisseurs), it wasn’t until 2020 and 2021 that the Medellín-born artist began to take off. Yeah Nicky Jam relaunched his career in Colombia, and J Balvin, Karol G and Maluma They are world stars of the genre, Feid did not want to be left behind and worked and worked. And from so much “chimbiar”, she arrived.

I must admit that a year ago I did not know the Ferxxo. but one tiny desk session (NPR Studios show) took me almost to ‘Medallo’ itself. Songs interpreted in an acoustic format with very Colombian instruments in an impeccable way. And from there, as it happens with all artists of the urban genre, a hit every month or two months, total validity, successes or challengers for Tik Tok and all social networks.

The Ferxxo concert continued with hits like “Belixe”, “It kills me” and “Relax”. For my surprise, there were more than 30 topics the ones sung last night in Arena 1, and when in reality I expected to hear between 6 and 8 hits well sung by all the audience, it was almost all the songs that were sung by the attendees at the San Miguel venue.

“It gives me great joy to see so many people, what a cool thing, love exists.

The Ferxxo interaction with his public must be one of the things that the Colombian develops best. His fans know how to recognize that and despite living glued to his cell phone (I don’t know how those batteries of their phones hold up), they take time to applaud, sing and dance to each of his songs.

His favourite song

The Ferxxo in another of his interactions with the public announces that his favorite song is coming, asks if they know what it is and among the screams a unanimity is heard: “X19X”. The singer with the blond locks who now wears a green cap (Ferxxo green, for connoisseurs) navigates between the lyrics of spite and partying, and that is perhaps why his recent success among his young audience.

In “Ultra solo” people begin to be flooded by the party atmosphere at Arena 1. In “Ferxxo 100″ melancholy returns and in “Friki” (the song he shares with Karol G) joy and dancing return. Almost two hours later, the concert is about to come to an end. “Si tú supieras”, the recent hit “Chorrito pa las ánimas” and “Feliz cumpleanos Ferxxo” complete the trio of most anticipated songs during the show. “Chimbita” puts the finishing touch to a concert full of hits, surprising due to the effusive response of the people and disappointing due to the venue. But Solomon is not to blame for that, nor is his faithful public. For them, all the applause.
