World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2021: Maido and Central among the 10 best in the world

After the 2020 edition of the “World’s 50 Best Restaurants”Due to the global crisis caused by the expansion of the coronavirus, a new edition arrives with great enthusiasm from Antwerp, Belgium, where we know that the Peruvian Pía León will be awarded as the best chef in the world.

The Peruvian Pía León received her award for the best female chef in the world today in the face-to-face ceremony. Last August, León became the first Peruvian to hold such a distinction, an award that adds to her other achievements: best female cook in Latin America (50 Best 2018) and best rising chef (The Best Chef 2019) in the world.

In person, the Peruvian chef took the stage to receive the trophy for the best female chef in the world. With this award, the manager of the Kjolle restaurant becomes the first Peruvian cook to reach the top of the gastronomic podium.

Central and Maido among the top 10 in the world

Central de Pía León and Virgilio Martínez took number 4 in the ranking, while Maido by Micha Tsumura obtained position number 7. In this way, the two Peruvian restaurants continue in the list of the 10 best in the world.
