Bareto to release new album with Bartola and Melcochita collaborations and announces tour

Bareto He has everything ready for the launch of his new album “Love is not for the weak”, which will be released this November 5. This album will have a total of 10 songs, most of them composed by guitarist Rolo Gallardo, and will feature collaborations from national and international artists such as Bartola, Rossy War, Melcochita and Janio Coronado. So far, they have premiered as an advance the songs “I remember you” and “Cumbia circular”, the latter in collaboration with María Cardona.

This Friday they will start a national tour with Ráfaga and Los Caribeños de Guadalupe, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this last group. The tour will begin in Cusco and will take you to step on stages in Lima, Arequipa, La Libertad and Ayacucho. “In such a complicated context, being able to plan a return in front of the national public is something we were looking for. We are happy because this tour allows us to travel again”, Says Jorge Olazo, a percussionist from Bareto.

In mid-September, the band made official the incorporation of Giuseppe Horna and Jair montaño, who were part of the last edition of “La Voz Perú”, as the new vocalists. This is the first time that Bareto will work with two voices and this will open new doors of musical exploration for them. “This gives another dimension to the performance of the group. Although lately the stability of the band has been shaken by the changes of vocalists, this is a good opportunity to rethink both the live performances and the dynamics that we have.”, Indicates Olazo.

At the time of undertaking the search for a new vocalist, the members of Bareto were looking for a young singer who could contribute with freshness and new ideas to the project that began in 2001. That is why they paid their attention to the young talents who present themselves. in “La Voz Perú” and when they listened to Giuseppe and Jair they realized that both could combine their voices and create a captivating harmony.

Despite these changes in Bareto’s voices, their style and musical essence remains, and that combination of rhythms such as cumbia and huayno with psychedelic rock, continues to be a characteristic hallmark in the new songs they have released. Jorge assures us that on the new album we will be able to listen to quite experimental songs, such as slower, more sensual types of cumbias and also an adaptation of a waltz by Augusto Polo Campos to the cumbia. That last song is called “I follow you” and in it they will have the special participation of Bartola, who is one of the great guests who will collaborate on the album.

“Love is not for the weak” is the name of Bareto’s new album, which will be released this November 5. Although Bareto has gained national fame, to a great extent, thanks to his versions of songs like “Elsa”, “My grandfather has already died” and “Cariñito”, something that stands out from this upcoming premiere is that nine out of ten songs are original compositions of the band.

For Bareto, the fact that their most popular songs can be covers of musical classics is not a negative thing, as it is one of the facets of the group that does not take away the effort and work they put into their original songs. “Old songs are no guarantee that you will be successful, because songs can be played by anyone. Anyone can play ‘Cariñito’ but the version that sounds is ours and thus there are a series of songs that in some way we have helped to bring back”, Says Olazo.

The group’s new album is practically ready before the pandemic, but the situation in which we find ourselves caused its release to be delayed. However, this has given them the opportunity to release the album with a German label, Agogo Records, which will give it an international promotion and has even allowed the single “Your memory” to already be playing on French radios.

Once “Love is not for the weak” is released, the band plans to hold at least one concert with all the artists who have collaborated with them for the album and it is something they are already working on, although they do not have one yet. confirmed date for the event. In addition, Olazo revealed that, thanks to the work with the German record label, they have proposals to go on tour in Europe, which is a great opportunity to show the new original repertoire of the band.

Despite the fact that Bareto is a band with a long history at the national level and has managed to gain public recognition for its characteristic musical proposal, the pandemic has been a great obstacle for the group. “It has been very hard, when the doors are closed for everyone, there is no way. We have had to leave the place where we have recorded for more than 10 years and so far my feet are going towards the rehearsal room, but it is no longer the place. It’s like you live in a house and suddenly that house is gone. Only with that detail can you give an idea that we were shocked a lot ”, says Jorge.

Before the health crisis began, Bareto performed about 12 shows a month and going from that many concerts to having none for months was a real challenge. “We have had to manage our funds and reserves, do something much more entrepreneurial, which is something that is already learned on the field”Explains Olazo. Despite the obstacles that arose, for Jorge music and art in general have been very important during the pandemic and now that things are slowly returning to normal, he believes that the public will give greater value to the entire industry artistic.

Bareto’s new album, “Love is not for the weak,” will be released this November 5 and can be heard on the main music streaming platforms, such as YouTube and Spotify.
