Letitia Wright’s injuries on the set of “Black Panther 2” are more serious than announced

Last August, Entertainment Weekly revealed that Letitia Wright had suffered a minor injury on the set of Black Panther 2. But while the actress still hasn’t returned to the set, Marvel has finally resolved to tell the truth: Shuri’s performer injuries are serious.

“What we initially thought were minor injuries turned out to be more serious and Letitia suffers from a serious broken shoulder as well as a concussion with significant side effects,” studio bosses announced in a press release relayed by The Independent, before adding: “It was a painful process and Letitia stayed at home to recover from the doctors and with the support of her family.”

When will the recovery?

In fact, the return of Letitia Wright on the set of Black Panther 2 is not for now. “Letitia has been recovering in London since September (…) and she hopes to return to work in early 2022,” said a representative of the actress in a second press release relayed by the NME.

An unfortunate accident which at least makes it possible to ensure one thing: the character of Shuri that the actress plays must have a preponderant place in the plot, otherwise the shooting would not have been stopped following his injury. It remains to be seen whether this delay will prevent the film from releasing in November 2022 as originally planned.
