His sidekick Dean Stockwell, aka the onscreen hologram Hal, has since passed away on November 10. The American channel NBC has not yet buried the project, on the contrary, as revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, it has just ordered the pilot of what is similar to a sequel. “Thirty years after Dr Sam Beckett entered the Quantum Code accelerator and disappeared, a new team is forming to try to understand the mysteries of the machine and of the man who invented it,” tease the synopsis .
Original series creator Donald P. Bellisario returns as producer, while Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt (Gotham) will be the showrunners of this revival. As for Scott Bakula, if nothing is official, The Hollywood Reporter reports that, according to sources, the actor could be well and truly involved. Oh well done!
