Franco Bernasconi, Peruvian cinematographer, passed away

The renowned director of Photography Peruvian, Franco Bernasconi Viale, passed away last Wednesday, January 19. Details of the cause of his death have not yet been released.

Through its Facebook account, the Ministry of Culture announced the news and extended its condolences to their families. “We regret the sensitive death of the outstanding national director of photography, Franco Bernasconi”, reads the statement.

The producer Tondero also spoke through social networks. On Facebook, he posted a lengthy message addressed to the cinematographer.

“Your departure leaves us with tremendous pain, but we know that a friend never leaves. You will forever be in our hearts Frankeche, our deepest condolences to family and friends. We love you”, says the publication, accompanied by a photograph of Franco Bernasconi.

Likewise, the Union of Audiovisual and Cinematographic Workers of Peru lamented the loss of national talent. “Friend, partner and unforgettable part of our audiovisual family. We will always remember you with a smile and our hearts thinking of you strongly. See you on the other side mate. Thank you for the laughter and the passion”.

One of his colleagues in the audiovisual industry, also director of photography Sebastián León Prado, sent an emotional message. “I will never forget our first project together, I didn’t even know what I was doing standing on the set with the greats of advertising, but there you were, protecting me from my naive ignorance and welcoming me to feel comfortable in what my future as a communicator would be (…) I still see you smile, I still hear you and I don’t want this to ever change.“, wrote.
