The European Commissioner in charge of the Internal Market, Thierry Breton, indicated this morning on RTL that Europe was going to “ask for reciprocity” from the United States in terms of welcoming European tourists, as part of the easing of the related restrictions. at Covid-19.

“We already welcome American tourists from the moment they are vaccinated, (…) and that we waited for the fifteen-day deadline. I insist that we want reciprocity, and I will speak about this later, because for the moment we still have quarantine in the United States ”for the Europeans, declared the European commissioner.
As of May 19, Les Vingt-Sept had agreed to allow entry into the EU to travelers from third countries who had received the necessary doses of the Covid vaccines authorized at European level. Tourists must therefore have been fully vaccinated for at least 14 days, with the two doses of Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca or the single dose of Johnson & Johnson.
If Brussels had proposed that there be no test or quarantine imposed for fully vaccinated people, these decisions are ultimately the responsibility of each member state. France, which reopens the flow of travelers from June 9, will continue to require a negative PCR or antigen test for travelers from the United States, whether or not they are vaccinated.
