President LREM of the National Assembly strongly wishes to see the pension reform materialize. Richard Ferrand even believes that burying or rushing on this project would be “madness”, in an interview with Sunday newspaper.

“I still want a reform which reduces inequalities by putting an end in particular to special schemes and which opens up new rights to young people, to women”, affirms the fourth figure of the State for whom “the pension reform cannot be abandoned” .

“We do not reform to give ourselves an image”

“Let us clearly reaffirm what we want to do and commit ourselves to this being our first reform of the second five-year term of Emmanuel Macron”, adds Richard Ferrand, while certain members of the government, such as the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire , are pushing to put the reform back on track without waiting for 2022. “We do not reform to give ourselves an image. Three in four French people believe that economic recovery is the priority of the moment. They are right, ”underlines the President of the National Assembly.

Richard Ferrand also gives his opinion on the actors of the end of the quinquennium. He describes in particular as “obvious” that Prime Minister Jean Castex, “who does his job well, remains in Matignon”. “Are all the ministers in tune with their respective ecosystems? It is for the Prime Minister to judge with the President, ”he adds.

Ferrand castigates stowaways for vaccination

Asked also about vaccination, he believes that it was becoming “an absolute imperative”, especially “among caregivers and professionals working in nursing homes”. “The stowaway strategy of waiting for others to get their injection is incomprehensible.” According to him, “this attitude is calling into question the free screening tests” and “threatens the most fragile, public finances, economic recovery (…) and our social life”.
