an annual grant of 12,000 euros to attract interns to Argenteuil

Rise in retirements, shortage of candidates… The lack of doctors is felt in Argenteuil. The city of Val-d’Oise has even been identified as a “priority intervention” area by the Regional Health Agency (Ars), reports The Val-d’Oise Gazette.

Faced with this situation, the municipality decided to act, by trying to attract young doctors. During the last city council, an unprecedented municipal scholarship was adopted: 12,000 euros per year granted for each year of medical internship and for a maximum of three years.

A five-year installation

To benefit from it, the student must settle in the territory of Argenteuil maximum one year after the end of his internship. For five years, he will have to practice at sector 1 tariff, as a liberal doctor or employee of one of the two municipal health centers (Cms).

Young doctors can thus be supported in their installation. The city of Argenteuil is gaining a practitioner and meeting the high demand. This type of “partnership” has existed for several years at the level of the Val Parisis conurbation.
