Parque de la Muralla: fair will show the latest inventions developed in Peru

The countdown began for the tenth edition of “Peru with Science”the scientific fair of Peru, a central activity that takes place within the framework of the National Science Week.

On this occasion, the Concytec and the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima organize this important event that will take place on November 11, 12 and 13 in person. The meeting point will be the esplanade of La Muralla Park, in the Historic Center of Lima, and admission is free.

Celebrating National Science Week

This year 2022, the “Peru with Science” fair will have about 30 exhibitors, including universities, public research institutes, technology companies and other organizations linked to science, technology and innovation, who will present the products, advances and novelties of scientific research and technological development, which contribute to the progress of the country.

In addition, the fair will present a varied program of scientific talks, recreational science shows, workshops, scientific monologues, and other activities aimed at girls, boys, adolescents and the general public.

Likewise, there will be a simultaneous chess demonstration and there will be a school zone, in which 10 science and technology clubs will participate, who will also present their research projects that they have been carrying out and will tell how they prepare to become future scientists.

It is important to mention that the celebration of the National Science Week will simultaneously carry out more than 250 physical and virtual activities for the promotion and dissemination of science and technology in the 26 regions of the country, in order to decentralize access to talks, conferences, workshops, guided tours on science and technology, open laboratories, fairs, etc. These activities will be carried out by local institutions in each region.

Finally, the National Science Week will be completed with the 32nd edition of the “Eureka” National Science and Technology School Contest, an event organized by Concytec and the Ministry of Education.

This year, Eureka will be presented through a virtual platform, where the finalist students competing for the national prize with interesting scientific research and/or technological development projects will be announced. The purpose is to promote the scientific vocation in Peruvian children and adolescents, as well as to have Peruvian representatives for international school scientific competitions.

In 2019, the Peru con Ciencia fair held its first decentralized edition in the city of Trujillo. In the years 2020 and 2021 it was carried out in virtual editions, a format that was not an impediment to achieving a great reception of visitors to both the central event and the decentralized activities. In total, more than 200 thousand visits were registered in 2020, while in 2021 more than 426 thousand visits were reached.
