The epidemic continues to weigh on the hospital system, since 2,091 coronavirus patients are now taken care of in critical care services, against 2,049 the day before, the outbreak that began at the end of July continuing.
All services combined, 10,515 hospital beds were occupied by Covid patients on Friday, against 10,392 the day before. Across France, 887 new patients have been hospitalized over the past 24 hours.
The epidemic progressed further on Friday: 22,319 cases of coronavirus were detected, with a test positivity rate of 3.3%.
Six in ten French people are fully vaccinated
On the vaccination front, more than seven out of ten people have now received at least one dose of vaccine in France (47,321,110 people, 70.2% of the total population), and more than six out of ten are fully vaccinated ( 40,902,443 people, 60.7% of the total population), according to the Ministry of Health.
Since the start of the epidemic, 113,264 people have died from the coronavirus in France, 86,689 in hospital. 83 deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours.
