While the positivity rate for tests is still low, the number of people sick with the coronavirus and hospitalized continues to drop on Wednesday, according to figures published by Public Health France.
This Wednesday, 7,726 people were hospitalized because of Covid-19 – including 254 admissions in 24 hours -, against 7,801 on Tuesday.
More than 70% of the vaccinated population
In critical care services, which welcome the most seriously ill, the number of patients is 1,466 (against 1,524 yesterday), with 52 new admissions. The number of deaths has risen to at least 116,657 since the start of the epidemic, including 89,822 in hospital and 42 in the last 24 hours.
The positivity rate is stable at 1.2%, with 5,835 new cases confirmed since the previous day. Regarding vaccination, 50,472,072 people have received at least one injection (ie 74.9% of the total population) and 48,516,596 people are fully vaccinated (ie 72% of the total population).
