The city distributes 12,600 FFP2 masks to school and nursery staff

The city of Limoges is not skimping on the means to cope with the new waves of Covid-19. FFP2 masks were distributed to teachers and all staff in contact with early childhood in Limoges (Haute-Vienne), i.e. 12,600 masks provided to 1,550 people for the month of January, she announced.

The operation which could be renewed until April, could cost “between 10,000 and 40,000 euros depending on the decision that we will take over the weeks, depending on the evolution of the pandemic”, one indicates to the town hall from Limoges.

Professionals more exposed to the Omicron variant

For Vincent Jalby, first deputy in charge of education issues, it is a question of adapting as closely as possible to needs: “Each week, we bring together the Covid watch unit and we try to find the best solutions. “It was during a cell of this type that the mayor LR Emile Roger Lombertie made this decision” by identifying kindergarten teachers as professionals more particularly exposed to the Omicron variant “, according to the same source. The FFP2s were also distributed to staff in schools and nurseries, or to animators in leisure centers.

“Faced with a crisis like the one we are going through, municipalities have this ability to act faster than a government. I also saw that Marseille and Cannes had followed suit ”, according to Vincent Jalby.
