Baked Potato Pie can easily become the star of a family dinner or lunch. With ham and mozzarella cheese, Yo Madre’s Recipes show us this week recipe perfect, steps and tips for the new cocky of the table.
Know the ingredients, preparation and hands to work:
- 1 kilo of white potato
- 1/2 cup fresh milk or evaporated milk
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 2 eggs
- 100 grams of ham
- Grated mozzarella cheese or Edam cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Vegetable oil
Peel the potatoes and cut them into approximately half-centimeter slices. Take a baking sheet and arrange the cut potatoes in rows. Add half the pepper, half the salt and a splash of olive or vegetable oil on top. Take your potatoes to the preheated oven, at a temperature of 180 degrees, for about 10 minutes. Then remove them from the oven and let them cool. Mix the eggs, heavy cream and fresh or evaporated milk with the rest of the pepper and salt. Take a refractory tray of about 30 cm in diameter that you can take to the oven and grease it with a little oil. In that tray, place a layer of potatoes, like lining your mold, both on the base and on the walls. Now you will begin to assemble your cake. On the first layer of potatoes, place the whole ham covering all the spaces and a layer of grated mozzarella. And so on. The last layer of the cake will be potato; but before this add the mixture of milk and eggs. Take your preparation to the oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 50 minutes. I always recommend checking, because ovens are different. You will know that the cake is ready when the potato is cooked.
