As a prelude to the ceremony on July 18 in which the 50 best restaurants in the world in 2022 will be revealed, The World’s 50 Best published the list of restaurants classified between positions 51 and 100, among which is a Peruvian establishment: Kjolle, from Pia Leon.
The restaurant located in Barranco improved 27 positions in relation to its classification from last year. That is, it went from position 95 that it had in 2021 to position 68.
“As bright and colorful as the flower that gives it its name, this restaurant’s offerings, from drinks to food to décor, are vibrant and lively. The nine-course tasting menu may include strawberry coconut river shrimp, beef cheek with red cabbage or sea bass, clams and quinoa leaf. The open-plan dining room offers a full view of Pía León and her team in the kitchen, with all furnishings made from 100% Peruvian materials,” the listing describes about Kjolle.
The 50 Best list, prepared by 1,080 independent authorities from the world of gastronomy, this 2022 presents 20 new entries in positions 100-51. Among them, the Latin Americans Máximo Bistrot (Mexico), Mishiguene (Argentina), Evvai (Brazil) and Rosetta (Mexico) stand out.
