Peru is chosen as the best culinary destination in the world

One more pride for Peruvian food! The World Travel Awards (WTA) 2022 recognized the country as the best culinary destination, to this recognition is added the best cultural destination and best tourist attraction for the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.

There is no doubt that Peruvian gastronomy conquers locals and strangers and this time was no exception, and this is how, for the tenth time, the WTA awards Peru with this title. In this way, the country is getting closer to the goal of “positioning Peruvian gastronomy as the best in the world,” says Promperú.

“Knowing that our country is a destination that stands out in the world, with a rich culture and gastronomy that are increasingly valued and appreciated by international travelers, fills us with satisfaction and encourages us to continue working to promote the attractive and diverse Peru’s tourist offer,” said Amora Carbajal, executive president of Promperú, in a press release.

It should be noted that in 2021, the country also won this recognition. On the other hand, the WTA organization also recognized Peru as the best gastronomic destination with respect to South America.
