The Père Vergé family, beyond being the owners of Bodega Monteviejo, is a family passionate about great wines of the world. The family, under the enterprising and thriving vision of Catherine, arrived in Argentina at the end of the 90s, with the aim of building a winery in one of her favorite places in the world. The construction of the winery began at the beginning of 2001, carrying out the first harvest in 2002.

After Catherine’s departure in 2013, the family, made up of Henri, Helen and Anne-Catherine Parent, and their children, Gaspar and Suzanne Parent, and Elisee and Ema Rieber, continue their tireless passion for making great wines in Argentina. .

The vines were arranged in a high trellis system, 1.8 meters high, with a high density of 5,500 plants per hectare, distributed in small plots between 1 and 3 hectares in order to have a differentiated control of each square.

The clones chosen from the traditional varieties are of French origin with low production and high quality. For the cultivation of Malbec, native selections from old vineyards with excellent adaptability to the terroir were chosen.

The property comprises 162 hectares at an altitude between 1,000 and 1,200 m asl. Its slopes facing north and east have the best sun exposure in the southern hemisphere.

Marcelo Pelleriti is a benchmark in the wine industry in the world. As general manager and winemaking director of Bodega Monteviejo in Mendoza, Argentina, he was always inspired by his conviction that winemaking is the artistic expression of the unique qualities of each place, and in this way he established himself as a great interpreter of terroir.

Since 2001, Marcelo has managed the Bordeaux vintages of Chateau La Violette and Chateau Le Gay, (both owned by the Père Vergé family), living in France from September to November each year.

His vast experience made him the first Latin American winemaker to obtain 100 Robert Parker points. With a French wine and at the same time get high scores in Argentine wines. Marcelo Pelleriti takes refuge playing his guitars during the rest hours of the grape harvest. This Petit Fleur is composed of Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Syrah, it also has 12 months in French oak barrels of 2nd and 3rd use of 225 liters. Subsequently, it rests in the bottle for 6 months.

Smell: It begins with notes of raspberry, plum and a hint of blackcurrant. Little by little, as the wine opens, notes of spices such as pepper, cloves and cinnamon emerge. Finally, when it is fully open it has notes of caramel, fig and vanilla.

Taste: An intense, fresh wine, with good acidity, round tannins and a long finish.

Pairing: Perfect for meats and stews, as well as mature cheeses.
