The rosca de reyes is the most sought after treasure every January 6, long lines in the best-known pastry shops throughout Spain, confirm this. No one can be without one, and like any other product there are them at all prices, the most affordable being those offered in supermarkets.
If you are one of those who is not looking to spend so much money on a king cake, but you want it to taste good, the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) of Spain has identified the five best supermarket bagels.
1. The English Court
The El Corte Inglés rosca de nata obtained 62 points, the highlight being its filling, but the sourdough is also what gives it that special touch. The price of this bagel is 14.45 euros per box, which contains 850 grams.
2. alcampo
With 60 points, the Alcampo rosca is in second place for its recipe and the quality of its filling. According to the supermarket itself, the bagels are baked daily, that is, they are characterized by their freshness. The price is 8.49 euros, the box of 420 grams.
3.eroski
The roscón de reyes from the supermarket of Basque origin obtained third place. Like the previous ones, the cream filling is the best, however, its additives are not usually of high quality. The price is 7.20 euros, the bagel 800 grams.
4. Lidl
In fourth place is the Lidl bagel, it is definitely located in this place for its quality – price, in fact it is the cheapest, it can be found at 5.99 euros, a 750-gram box. In addition, there are seven different options for all tastes.
5.Carrefour
The French supermarket manages to place itself in fifth place with 50 points. Its recipe is one of the most traditional, with cream, butter, palm oil free and orange blossom water. The price is 11.95 euros for the box of 800 grams.
