Gastronomic calendar 2023: know the dates that you cannot miss

The gastronomic diversity in Peru has impressed locals and strangers and this has to be celebrated, which is why there is a gastronomic calendar to remember certain drinks and typical dishes. Here we detail which are the dates that you must schedule in your calendar:

FEBRUARY

National Pisco Sour Day: The flag drink of Peru deserved its day and so it was that since 2005, the first saturday in february of each year the day is dedicated to celebrate it.

National Pachamanca Day: The first sunday February is the day of one of the most representative dishes of the Peruvian highlands. The Pachamanca is prepared in a different way depending on the place where it is eaten.

Emollient day: The February 20th It is the day of emollient, quinoa, maca, kiwicha and other traditional natural drinks. All these drinks are usually consumed at breakfast by Peruvians.

MAY

National Potato Day: The May 30 It is the day chosen to celebrate the more than 3,500 varieties of this tuber that still exist in the country.

JUNE

Ceviche Day: The flagship dish also has its day and is the June 28th. Many cebicherías dress up as a party to receive many diners.

JULY

Grilled Chicken Day: The third sunday July is the chosen day to celebrate the existence of the most consumed dish in Peru.

National Pisco Day: Just as the Pisco Sour is celebrated, pisco also has its day and is the fourth sunday of july. It is necessary to mention that this drink is Cultural Patrimony of the Nation.

AUGUST

National Day of Peruvian Coffee: Peruvian coffee has its day and it is the fourth friday of august. Being one of the largest coffee producers allows Peru to dedicate a day to celebrate its existence.

OCTOBER

National Guinea Pig Day: The second friday in october It is dedicated to the guinea pig, a typical dish from the highlands of Peru.

Anticucho Day: A dish loved by many has its day and it is the third Saturday of October.

Day of the Manchachesto: This dish, made up of carapulcra and dry soup, also has its day and is the fourth sunday in october.
