Ice cream for dogs? Meet Yogy, the brand to pamper your pet

The heat seems to never end and we are not the only ones who suffer the consequences. Our pets are also prone to dehydration and, like us, need to cool down. For this reason, the Peruvian brand Barker created Yogy, a fruit and yogurt-based ice cream as an alternative to pamper our dogs. We spoke with the team of this brand to learn more about their proposal and why it is ideal.

“At Barker our mission is to offer the best to our pets, that they have the best quality of life they can have and that is why we created this product. We saw that with the arrival of summer our puppies can also suffer from heat strokes and we know that sometimes the water we give them may not be enough to cool down ”, he comments to Advantage María Paz Otayza, the brand’s marketing manager.

We know, the idea of ​​an ice cream designed for our four-legged friends can be curious. For this reason, when they created this product approximately three years ago, they decided to do it in the best way and ensure pet care.

The creation process was accompanied by a zootechnician to know how to choose the precise ingredients to combine and the final product is endorsed by veterinarians. Even the first people in charge of trying (and approving) this ice cream were the mascots of the Barker team.

“We didn’t want something that is only good for them, but that they also enjoy it and we see that even when we activate in different spaces,” adds Otayza.

The base of this ice cream is low-fat yogurt, suitable for consumption by pets. This ingredient, they say, is enriched with probiotics, ideal for our four-legged friends.

In addition, it carries fruits such as blueberries, watermelon, strawberries and banana, which are also suitable for consumption. It should be noted that this product does not contain added sugar and indicates it as a source of calcium and vitamins A, C, D and E.

The ice cream is so natural that they say it is a product “created for dogs and suitable for humans”. “On more than one occasion we see pet owners who share a Yogy with them without problems. That speaks of the quality of the product”, comments the marketing manager of Barker.
